

James Ely, 57, passed away June 23, 2017, leaving his mother, Jane; his niece Tiffany; and his great niece, Kenlee. He was preceded in death by his youngest brother Paul; his older brother John; his father Robert and his niece Cheyenne. He will be well remembered by his relatives and many loyal friends, who have enjoyed his brilliant mind and charming quick wit.
James was born in Kansas where he lived in Wichita until graduating high school. During that time he won many art awards and a Scholarship to Ft. Lauderdale Art Institute. After he graduated, he used his inherent gift and did many paintings; magazine advertisements; fashion illustrations and logos.
He later took a different direction as a Chief Steward on a privately chartered luxury yacht, on which he traveled to many islands and foreign countries.
He then followed another interest of Fine Dining. During which time he had a catering business and a fresh flower shop. Later he was a floral designer and brightened many homes with his creative arrangements.
He saw and appreciated all things beautiful from the smallest flower to the majestic mountains and especially the vast beaches.
He used his artistic gifts in many various ways. He will be remembered as a loyal friend with a kind and caring nature, and a loving son.
