

Janet Lebedeker (nee Berelsman) of South Palm Beach passed away on July third after a brief illness. She leaves behind her daughters Rebecca (Jim) and Elizabeth (Ben), sons Bernard (Heather) and Nathan (Rolla), and eight grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Michael. Janet and her twin brother James were born to Anna Ruth (nee Richardson) and Bernard Berelsman on February 19th, 1940, in Toledo Ohio. The family relocated to Winter Park Florida in 1954, where Janet attended Edgewater High School. She went on to graduate from Florida State University in 1962, embarking on a teaching career that spanned forty years. Janet and Michael traveled the globe as part of Michael’s navy service spending time in the Washington DC area in between overseas assignments. Along the way Janet was active in Girl Scouting and Navy relief. Upon Michael’s retirement, he and Janet relocated to Palm Beach Florida where Janet began a second career in real estate. Janet was an avid gardener, talented cook, and an enthusiastic conservationist, who donated her time to sea turtle protection programs.
Janet’s life will be celebrated at a funeral mass at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Georgetown,Washington DC at 1030 am on September 20th, 2022. She will be buried with her husband at Arlington National Cemetery at 10 am on September 21st.
