

Joe, a Vietnam era veteran and long tenured executive of Moog Inc died on July 1, 2025 at the age of 84, in Florida. He was born in Wellsville, NY, on March 2, 1941, son of David Comstock and Jeanne Woodard Green of Allentown, NY. Joe graduated from Bolivar Central School in 1958 and Alfred University in 1962. At Alfred, he was a member of Klan Alpine Fraternity and lettered in varsity basketball and tennis. After graduation, he served four years of active duty in Germany, plus three years in the Reserves as a U.S. Army Officer, and was honorably discharged in 1969 at the rank of Captain.
Joe moved from Germany to Buffalo, NY, following active duty to begin his career with Moog Inc. He was elected an Officer in 1973 and a member of the Board of Directors in 1986. During his 48 years at Moog Inc, he worked closely with Bill Moog, the founder, and with Bob Brady, Bill’s successor, in developing a world class company with a unique culture based on mutual trust and respect. When Joe began at Moog Inc in 1966, it was a $20 million company with 800 employees. When he retired in 2014, Moog Inc was a $2.6 billion worldwide company with 11,500 employees located in 28 different countries. Joe was a leading advocate in maintaining Moog’s unique work environment around the world which was recognized in the book, “The 100 Best Companies to Work for In America”.
Joe traveled the world for Moog Inc and enjoyed golf, skiing and other athletics. But, most of all, he loved his children and took great pride in their academic, athletic and career accomplishments.
Joe was a past member of the Mercy Hospital, and YMCA of WNY, Boards of Directors. He was also a Member of the County Club of Buffalo, Crag Burn Golf Club where he served on the Board and as President, and Bear Lakes Country Club in Florida.
After his retirement from Moog Inc in 2014, he moved to Singer Island, Florida, and established his own Consulting Company.
He is survived by his wonderful and loving wife Nora M. Egan-Green, residing in Singer Island, Florida; two sons, Michael J. Green in Denver and J. Garrett Green in California; and two daughters, Dr. Cynthia D. Green in Connecticut and Dr. Kristen N. Green in Buffalo; a brother, Tim D. Green and a sister, Vicki Jeanne Andrews. He is predeceased by his older brother David G. Green.
The memory of Joe’s life will be observed privately by the family.
