APRIL 29, 1975 – MARCH 21, 2020
We celebrate the life of Joffre LeFevre, who passed away on March 21, 2020.
Born in 1975 in South Bend, Indiana, Joffre moved with his parents to Indianapolis in 1977. He spent his formative years in the Hoosier state, graduating from Roncalli High School in 1993, and from Indiana University in 1997.
After working as a Certified Public Accountant in Indianapolis and Boston, Joffre pursued a graduate degree at Vanderbilt University, earning a Master of Business Administration in 2005. He spent five years in Atlanta with Delta Airlines, working in corporate finance to facilitate the company’s merger with Northwest. In 2009, he moved to North Palm Beach, Florida, to study financial markets at Lowry Research Corporation alongside his father-in-law, Paul F. Desmond. When Paul died in 2018, Joffre bravely took the helm of the company as President and CEO, despite battling his own cancer diagnosis.
Beyond his keen business acumen and unmatched work ethic, Joffre was a friend, a coach, a teammate, a manager, a mentor, a son, a brother, an uncle, a grandson, and a cousin.
But chief in his life were his roles as a husband and a father. He met his wife, Kristen, six weeks before graduating from college when his fraternity was paired with Kristen’s sorority during IU’s famed “Little 500.” Their bond was electric, instant, and unbreakable. They were engaged in 2000, married in 2001, and later welcomed three children who were the absolute lights of his life.
Joffre never missed the opportunity to pour his love into his family, his friends, and even strangers. He will be remembered for his infinite kindness, his humility, his love of adventure, his competitive spirit, and his devotion to his family.
He was taken well before his time. It’s a tragedy that those left behind will never understand. We will strive to deal with Joffre’s loss for the rest of our lives, but we will take comfort in doing our utmost to emulate his easy-going, optimistic attitude and zest for life.
He will be profoundly missed by his devoted wife of nearly 19 years, Kristen, and their beloved children, Sawyer, Wyatt, and Elisabeth; by his parents Jacques and Diane LeFevre; by his sister J’nai Stuller and her husband Shane Stuller; by his nephews Nolan Stuller and Isaac Stuller; by his grandmother Bernadette DeVoursney; by his mother-in-law Mary Lou Desmond; and by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family members across the country.
Because of COVID-19 precautions, a private, immediate-family-only burial service will be held on Thursday, March, 26, 2020 in Tequesta, Florida. When this viral threat has passed and it is safe to gather in groups again, we will host a Catholic Mass and celebration of Joffre’s life in Indianapolis, Indiana. Details will be forthcoming.
Additionally, in light of the current viral threat, please refrain from sending flowers, food, or other gifts to Joffre’s family at this time. His life-loyal Theta Chi Fraternity brothers have graciously set up a GoFundMe account that will help to defray the cost of the substantial medical bills accrued during Joffre’s 18+ month fight against cancer, and to support his wife and children during this difficult time. We ask that you please consider donating to the fund, which you can access by clicking here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-joffre-kick-cancer
