Joyce Kathleen DiChiara

Sica. Joyce grew up in Long Island, New York and graduated from Saint Mary’s High School in

Long Island. She attended American University in Washington, D.C., where she met the love of

her life, Robert (“Bob”) DiChiara.

Joyce and Robert were married on November 18, 1951 at the main altar of Saint Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City. It was followed by a reception at the beautiful Ambassador Hotel on Park Avenue, and the honeymoon was at the old Lake Placid Club. They were married for over 68 years. They also traveled to many destinations around the world.

Robert was a stockbroker. Joyce organized and ran many charity events. She also owned and operated a clothing and women’s accessories boutique shop Roslyn, New York. Together they raised two children in Greenvale, Long Island - Denise and Robert DiChiara, Jr. They loved golfing and events at the Mill River Country Club in Long Island, N.Y. They were also members of the Huntington Yacht Club in Huntington, Long Island, where they enjoyed boating with friends on their 46 foot ocean yacht, the JOYBOB.

In 2000, Robert retired, and the couple moved from New York to Florida to be near family. They bought a home on the intercoastal waterway on Singer Island, Florida. They joined Old Port Cove Yacht Club in North Palm Beach. They had many friends who moved down from New York and met new friends at the yacht club.

Robert went to be with the Lord in 2020. Joyce is survived by her daughter, Denise Hanrahan and her husband Jeff Hanrahan of Houston, Texas; Robert DiChiara, Jr., his wife Cindy and their son, Anthony, of Carlsbad, California.

A viewing will be held on Monday, January 20, 2025 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Quattlebaum

Funeral, Cremation & Event Center, 754 US-1 N., North Palm Beach, FL 33408. Funeral

services and interment will be held at 11:00 am (arrive 10:30-10:45), Tuesday, January 21 2025

at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery, 1500 South State Road 7, North Lauderdale,

FL 33068.
