Born in 1926 in Winneshiek County, Iowa, to Robert and Marie (Ellingson) Walsh, she was the third of 5 children. She attended Mt. St. Clair College in Iowa. After working at the Mayo Clinic as a medical secretary, she and two girlfriends moved to Seattle, WA, where she met her future husband, Ugo Volpi. After marrying in her hometown of Cresco, Iowa, they lived in the states of Washington, New Jersey and Ohio before settling in Palm Beach County in 1960. There she raised her four children prior to joining her husband in various business ventures. These included Goodway Printing Center in Riviera Beach, for which she was the general manager for many years. Even after her son took over that business, she continued to work there daily until the age of 84; everybody knew June as the smiling face of Goodway. Her husband, her children and grandchildren all adored her.
Surviving are three children, Linda (Chuck), Kathleen, and Robert; five grandchildren, Lisa (Seth), Anna, Scott, Christopher and Matthew; two great-grandchildren, James and Beatrice; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of nearly 64 years; her daughter Barbara; her parents; her three sisters, Rosemarie, Agnes, and Margaret; and her brother Robert.
