

Kathleen was born on January 21, 1949, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was known for being the life of the party and for living every day to the fullest. She grew up in Springfield, Pennsylvania, graduating from Springfield High School in 1967 and from Keystone Secretarial School in 1970.
Kathleen began her professional life working for an advertising agency in Philadelphia. She later worked as a hostess at several restaurants, while beginning her career as a nail technician and esthetician. In 1978, she married Lawrence A. Mitchell, with whom she had two sons, Tony and Chris. In 1985, Kathleen moved to Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, where she raised her boys and continued her work as an esthetician. She was also a beloved hostess at Christine’s. Throughout her life, Kathleen devoted herself to promoting beauty, joy, and fun wherever she went.
She is survived by her sons, Lawrence A. (Tony) Mitchell and Christopher E. Mitchell (Angela); her five cherished grandchildren, Tyrian, Antonio, Aalivea, Nathaly and Ella; her sisters, Lori Schmidt (Bill) and Roseanne Harris (Steven); her brother, Daniel Antonelli (Reenie) and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Edward J. McLaughlin; her stepfather, Emanuel W. Antonelli, her mother, Dolores L. Antonelli; and her partner of 20 years, Allen Zappone.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at St Clare Catholic Church, 821 Prosperity Farms Rd, North Palm Beach, Florida 33408, on May 2, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
Kathleen will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
