Mae Aileen Hamilton, age 96, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2020.
Mae was born in Troy, South Carolina on January 14, 1924. She graduated the Greenwood High School at the age of 16; and married Dempsey Hamilton on July 5, 1941. She and Dempsey celebrated 65 years of marriage before his passing.
Mae was a homemaker and raised five children; then in the late '70's she worked at the Palm Beach Gardens High School as a librarian for over 10 years.
Mae loved reading, doing crossword puzzles, and word search books. She enjoyed studying the Bible and walking in the Gardens Mall with her friends. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her son, Dempsey Hamilton and his wife, Sandra; her daughter, Beverly Dansereau and her husband, Frank; her son Jack; her son Julian Matthew and his wife, Linda; 10 grandchildren, 13 great grands, 2 great great grands and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mae was preceded in death by her husband, Dempsey in 2006, and her daughter, Marcia Neel, in 2008.
