

Margaret was born and lived in in Roanoke, Virginia and lived in Raleigh, North Carolina and Charlottesville, Virginia growing up where she met her husband Franklin Fitzgerald of Charlottesville. They were married in 1955 in Charlottesville at the First Presbyterian Church. After marriage Margaret and Frank lived in Chatham and Madison, New Jersey before moving to Framingham, Massachusetts in 1959 and Weston, Massachusetts in 1963; where they lived for 57 years. In 2020, Frank and Margaret moved to Juno Beach, Florida along with their son David.
Margaret was an only child and the daughter of Davis and Clara Marshall of Roanoke and Charlottesville, Virginia.
Margaret attended Lane High School in Charlottesville, Virginia. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in education from the University of Virginia and a Master of Education degree from Boston University. Margaret worked as an elementary school teacher in New Jersey and Massachusetts and a college office administrative assistant while in Massachusetts.
Margaret enjoyed raising and owning Dachshund dogs, gardening, and watching her son David play organized sports, old movies, and Boston Red Sox baseball games.
Margaret is survived by her husband Franklin Fitzgerald, son David Fitzgerald, daughter-in-law Stephanie Fitzgerald, and two granddaughters Linnea and Carina Fitzgerald.
Margaret will be laid to rest in Monticello Memory Gardens in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Margaret was a great wife, mother, and grandmother and will be missed dearly. She will be loved for eternity by all her family members.
