

Otto Richard George Kopietzki, 84, of North Palm Beach, Fl, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2025 at Trustbridge Hospice, Jupiter, Fl. Otto was surrounded by those who loved him and will forever hold him in their hearts.
A celebration of life service is planned, details will follow.
Otto was born January 17, 1941 in Breslau, Germany, to parents Otto Richard and Hedwig Ivonowski Kopietzki. He was educated in Hamburg, receiving a degree in international business administration from the Hamburg School of Business in 1961.
In 1963 Otto immigrated to the United States, joining General Motors Corp, before being drafted into the US Army in 1964. He was stationed at the Presidio in 1966 and honorably discharged in 1970.
During his 45+ years career in the worldwide global power generation industry, Otto managed total business operations, sales, distribution, and manufacturing channels throughout Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia, Latin America, North America, and Australia for such industry giants as Cal Pacific, Onan, Cummins and Kohler Power Systems. He was respected by all for his integrity, dedication and commanding business skills. Besides the US, Otto resided abroad in Hong Kong, Dubai, Amsterdam, London, and Paris forming friendships around the world that would last a lifetime.
A man of quiet generosity, Otto was an avid reader, a constant learner, with an uncanny memory and love of history. He enjoyed tennis, golf, poker, walking the dog, and was known for his gourmet cooking skills. Above all, Otto was a devoted fiancee, husband, Papa and Opi. His love for family was boundless and his legacy lives on in the values, memories and love he instilled in them.
Otto is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 38 years, Marlene Cora O'Neill (2006).
He is survived by his fiancee Michelle Coppola, his children Kirstin Wix (Jeremiah), Stephan Kopietzki (Anna), his grandchildren Henry, Ava, Sophia, Blake, McKenna, Kaleigh, and Maggie, his sisters Barbara, Karen, and Ursula Burhenne (deceased in 2005) nieces Bettina (John), Angelika, his nephews George, Martin and his venerable pooch, Sir Winston.
Otto will be remembered always as a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, partner, friend and treasured mentor. Donations in his honor may be made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital.
