Phil was the best. Helped my oldest daughter through a trying time. I got to spend some quality time with him in his office, just talking about life.  I will miss him.

Dear Mrs Houston and the Houston Family,

When I heard of Mr. Houston's passing I was flooded with the memories of the decency and professionalism that Mr. Houston displayed when he represented me in my disability case.  He was a kind, soft spoken, honest, intellect who was of the finest lawyer's and human being this world will ever witness.  Our prayers are with you all in this difficult time.  Our faith consoles us in knowing he is resting in peace. His legacy leaves us with such goodness here to reflect on with so many people he has touched in his life. Evie: Marie is more "present" on the internet than I am, but I am online now and want to convey my deepest condolences to you and Phil's children. Phil and I shared many chapters of our lives since law school, personally and professionally, and my last conversation with him at a Gator Ski Club meeting included his advise about how to maximize the benefits of social security and retirement savings assets.  He was a true model of "a good man" and "a great lawyer" in every way and he will be missed by all who had the privilege to know him. For those of us who "approximately" share his age, his sudden passing is a solemn reminder that our time here is an unknown over which we have no control and we need to continually check our "schedule" against our priorities. I am so very sorry to hear of Mr. Houston's passing.  He was an amazing and compassionate attorney. From the bottom of my heart, I am so grateful to him.  He worked tirelessly for me for 2 1/2 years and we just got confirmation this past week of the positive outcome from his hard work and dedication. The photographs in his office showed what a wonderful man, father, and loving husband he obviously was!  My prayers are with your family. May the Lord be with you during this very difficult time.

I am saddened by the news of Phil's passing. He was a tremendous lawyer, but above all was someone who's word you could take to the bank. In this day of cutthroat lawyering, Phil's integrity and honest approach to the practice of law was very refreshing. He will truly be missed.

It is shocking we have lost such a true gentleman so early.
