

Ray John Fred, age 82, was born in Long Island, New York to parents Carl and Alfhild Fred. He lived in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida for over 60 years. Even though he enjoyed Florida's weather, he loved the mountains of North Carolina where he also owned a home. He spent many vacations enjoying his mountain home in Hendersonville, North Carolina with family and friends.
He was the driver and owner of drag race cars ( Funny and Altered Cars) in the 1960’s and 70’s. He worked in the Construction Industry as a Trim Carpenter. Ray was the owner of "Ray Fred Trim Works" where his talent of woodworking shined.
Ray is preceded in death by his wife of 59 years Marguerite Fred, son David Fred, grandson Joseph Fred, parents Carl and Alfhid Fred, and brother Robert Fred.
He is survived by his son, Bruce Fred ( Pam) of Port St Lucie, brother Rick Fred ( Rene) of Palm Beach Gardens; grandchildren Caitlin Fred, Allyson Fred and Shalinka Jo Edinger(Carr) (CJ); great grandchildren Jaela Hasty, Lincoln Edinger, Paisley Rose Fred and Parker Rae Fred; sister-in-law Kathy Morrow; nieces Jacqueline Morrow, Lori Maldonado (Robert) and Christine Morell ( Louis); nephews Tom Morrow (Erin), Kevin Morrow (Cristy) Dan Morrow
(Carol) and Jim Morrow (Marty); cousins Teddy Andersen ( Linda), Karin Cone and his life long friend Gene Bondonese (Kathy).
No matter the circumstances, Ray always had an infectious smile on his face that radiated. Everyone that he met, he would strike up a conversation with them. It has been said that he never met a stranger.
He will be deeply missed by all of his family and friends.
