Shonda is survived by her husband of 30 years, Steven of Palm Beach Gardens, her brother Alan, his wife Alana of Brambleton VA, her brother Stephen, his wife Janis of Mandeville LA, her brother Larry, his wife Lyd of New Caney TX, and many nieces and nephews.
Shonda was an educator having earned her BA from the University of New Orleans and her MS from Walden University. She also earned her certification in Youth and Family Ministry from Concordia University, Irvine. She loved teaching students reading, math and science in Christian, private and public schools. She especially loved working with church youth groups of all ages, teaching them silly Shonda songs like the "Nanner Nanner" song and most importantly the love Jesus has for them.
Shonda enjoyed creating. Bulletin boards for school classrooms and hallways, craft projects, sketching, painting and embroidery. Shonda's love language was gifts, and she loved creating projects to give to others. She was giving even after the door to heaven was opened to her as she donated her organs. Her liver and kidneys were recovered for transplant and her other organs for research.
A celebration of life service will be held in the near future.
