Twyla was the eldest of 3 children and was born and raised in Stanton, Iowa, but moved to Red Oak, Iowa as a teenager. Upon graduation from Red Oak High School she moved to Omaha, Nebraska to pursue a career as a Beautician. Shortly after she moved to Omaha, she met the man of her dreams, Charles Ray McDulin, who was in the Air Force at the time and was stationed at neighboring Offutt Air Force Base. It was love at first sight. After a 5-month courtship, they married on December 12th, 1953. A marriage and love affair that would span over 70 years. During their marriage Twyla and Charles moved to Hamilton, Ohio where they were blessed with 2 boys, John Timothy McDulin (66) and William Scott McDulin (62). When her boys were age 12 and 8, Twyla enrolled in college at Miami University (the Harvard of the Midwest) where she would earn her degree in Speech Pathology graduating in 1974. Shortly after graduation, the family moved to Palm Beach Gardens, FL where they would live for the next 49 years. Twyla was a Speech and Language Pathologist at Jerry Thomas Elementary School in Jupiter, FL for over 25 years helping her students become the best version of themselves.
After retiring, she would volunteer at The King’s Academy evaluating and referring students. In addition to being a Mother, she was a “Gramma” to 5 Grandchildren (Patterson-30, Charles-28, Mallory- 27, Timothy Davis- 26, Sutton- 25) and a Great Gramma, to 2 great grandchildren (Georgia- 23 Months and Lucy- 6 months) She loved Jesus, her family and her friends and she will be missed dearly.
Twyla was preceded in death by her Mother Dora Lindell Ossian, her Father John Arndt Ossian, her Uncle Rudy Ossian and is survived by her sisters (Joyce Halvin of Red Oak, IA. Sandra Ballain of Omaha, NE) her husband Charles Ray McDulin, her sons John Timothy McDulin and William Scott McDulin as well as her Grandchildren (Patterson McDulin Gonzalez, Charles Read McDulin, Mallory McDulin Porter, Timothy Davis McDulin, Sutton Anders McDulin) and Great Grandchildren (Georgia Sophia Gonzalez and Lucy Lisette Gonzalez)
A Celebration of life service will be held at Howard Quattlebaum Funeral Home in North Palm Beach, FL on May 11th beginning at 9am for the reception followed by the celebration of life service at 11am-12pm. Service will also be available to be live streamed between 11am and 12 noon.
