Born in Newark, New Jersey on June 25, 1945, Vincent graduated from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and began his passionate journey into medicine as an intern and resident at Parkview Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. In 1976 he joined the John F. Kennedy Hospitals in Stratford and Washington Townships, NJ, becoming the chief of general surgery during his thirty plus years tenure. Vincent was awarded a fellowship by the American Academy of Osteopathy for his leadership and excellence in the medical field.
Following his extraordinarily gifted career as a surgeon, “Dr. Vinnie” became a resident of Palm Beach Shores, Florida, where he enjoyed his retirement as an active Member of the Rotary Club of Singer Island Florida, appointed the position as President for some time, and as a chef and grill master with the Palm Beach Shores Volunteer Fire Department for many community events, including bar-b-ques and pancake breakfasts, preparing and serving food during annual holiday celebrations of St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, and various fundraising events supporting the Fire Department. Both for charity and his family and friends, Dr. Vinnie was a fabulous cook, maybe even a slightly better eater … just ask any of the R.O.M.E.O.’s!
During Vincent’s teenage years he worked with his father, “Mr. Lou” Allora, a master mechanic, learning and perfecting the art and science of auto mechanics, rebuilding and fine tuning mostly Corvette’s for racing, with countless trophies adorn throughout his family’s home that exemplified his expertise and achievements.
Beloved husband of Lynda Allora, proud father of Jennifer Allora and Vincent M. Allora, impassioned grandfather of Isabella Calzadilla Allora, adored by his sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews and friends, and eternally praised mentor to his students and colleagues in medicine, Vincent’s legacy transcends time.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Vincent’s memory to World
Central Kitchen (wck.org) and Doctors Without Borders (doctorswithoutborders.org).
