Growing up in Abbottsford, a proud alumni of Yale Secondary, Amanda maintained a busy schedule of friends and work, often holding 2 or 3 jobs. Her love of dance started young and gave her joy throughout her life. A committed fan of live music, she was always looking for new artists to introduce to us.
She loved fast cars, American muscle only. When she had the chance to drive a NASCAR – she leapt at it. She was never a passenger in her life.
Amanda, a fierce advocate for the transplant community, took every opportunity to raise awareness and promote organ donor registration. Authentic and sincere, she was a powerful speaker led by doing. First with Liverpalooza, the Transplant Research Foundation and then the Healthy Heart Living Society. In 2016, to celebrate her 10th Anniversary, Amanda embarked on the Live then Give Tour. This led to the establishment with her husband, Guy, of the www.livethengive.ca fund.
Amanda joins her father Bill, who passed before her. She is survived by her Husband, Guy Lapierre, her Mom, Debbie Poch, her Brother, Dave Poch, her Aunts, Joanne Curry, Carolyn Pigeau, and Uncle, Rene Pigeau. Her Uncle Greg Curry, whose quiet support helped her so often. Friends and family will draw strength from their memories of her elegance, openness, heartfelt empathy and an infectious joy that lifted everyone who knew her.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.MeM.com for the Lapierre family.
