Antonia Gentile

Antonietta, Antonia - Grannie: passed away peacefully on September 4th, at Creekstone Care Centre, North Vancouver surrounded by her loving family by her side.

She was born on November 10th Grumo Appula, Bari, Italy. She immigrated to Quesnel, B.C. when she was 34 turning 35 she immigrated with her parents Teresa and Francesco and sister Letizia. Her brothers Vincenzo Pasquale and Maria were married and living in Quesnel. In 1976 she married Filippo and made their home in North Vancouver. Antonia was happiest when anyone came into their home and she welcomed them with open arms.

She was predeceased by her caring and devoted husband Filippo of 30 years, mother and father Teresa and Francesco, brothers Vincenzo (Lucia), Pasquale (Teresa), brothers-in-law Michele Servedio, Pietro Colacone, sister's-in-law Antonietta (Luigi) Brini, Maria (Nicola) Marino and step son, Nicola (Angie) Gentile.

Survived by sister's Maria Servedio and Letizia Colacone, loving and dedicated step daughter Carolina (Nicola) Pietraroia, step grandchildren Mena (Mario - predeceased), Brian (lisa - predeceased), Viviana (Darren), Anita (Karim), great step children: Nicole, Luciano, Natalie, Alexander, Frank, Eliana and Karina, many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends near and far.

Antonia's infectious laugh and beautiful smile will be deeply missed by everyone that knows her. All the grandchildren and great grandchildren will always cherish the memories of her and the endless times spent together.

We thank-you for who you are Grannie and forever we will keep you in our hearts. "A life well Lived" - Rest in Peace!

A heartfelt thank-you to all the amazing staff at Capilano Care (15 years) and Creekstone Care Centre (3 years) as there are no words of gratitude. A special thank-you to Dr. Susan Chow for her support, dedication and unconditional care throughout the years.

Funeral service will be held at St. Edmunds Parish, 545 Mahon Avenue, North Vancouver on September 10, 2024 at 11:00 am with interment to follow at North Vancouver Cemetery. A reception will be held following the interment at First Memorial Funeral Services Boal Chapel, 1505 Lillooet Road, North Vancouver, BC.

In lieu of flowers, donations will be gratefully accepted at Lions Gate hospital, North Vancouver.
