It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bernhard (Bernie) Georg Mischke at age 86. He left behind his devoted wife of over 30 years, Julia, his daughter Georgette, his son Jason, his two grandchildren Wyatt, Harrison, and his step daughters Joanne and Lisa (Ben) and their children Hanna, Josh and Chloe. He will be fondly remembered by his brother Harald (Birgit) and half siblings Lothar (Cindy), Yvonne, and Georgia (Brett) and many nieces and nephews. Bernie was born in Düsseldorf, Germany and moved to Vancouver in his early twenties to work in forestry and then pursued his engineering degree. He successfully owned and operated BGM Construction for over 25 years. In his retirement years he enjoyed his great love of skiing, boating, fishing, travelling, gardening and being by his pool. We would like to thank the nurses, doctors and caregivers at Cedarview Lodge for the excellent care Bernie received.
As requested, there will be a small family gathering to celebrate Bernie’s life.
