Born in Stettin, Germany, Eber grew up in Hamburg, leaving in 1962 for, supposedly, “a year” in Canada. He lived in Montreal before moving to Vancouver where he met his future wife, Doris on a local tennis court. During their 61 years together, they raised their four daughters in North Vancouver - Kim (Joel), Vivian (Brian), Karin (Calen) and Nicole (Paul).
Eber worked in the car industry and, later in life, went on to realize his dream of owning his own company, before retiring to play tennis and golf. He loved to travel and spend time with his family and friends. His godsons, Raphael and Fraser were always close to his heart. His pride and joy were his grandchildren, Jordyn, Sydney, Abby, Avery and Wyatt to whom he was simply known as “Ebie”.
Eber was one of a kind and will be sorely missed.
A private, family service will be held at a later date.
