Hrafnhildur Eik Kvaran Egilson passed away peacefully on May 7, 2026, surrounded by her devoted family. Beloved mother of Laila and Mariam; grandmother of Jahaan, Sonya, Suraya, Sara, and Anja; and sister of Gunnar; predeceased by her beloved parents, Þórbjörg Elísabet Magnúsdóttir Kvaran and Jón Bjartmar Ólafsson Kvaran. Born in Ísafjörður, Iceland, she lived a full and beautiful life around the world, including in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania; Vancouver, British Columbia; and Battleford, Saskatchewan. She was known for her multitude of strengths, particularly her incredible baking and cooking and her musical talents - among many fascinating jobs, she was a Montessori teacher/director for over 40 years, and an active member of the Boys and Girls Club. She is survived by her large loving family in North Vancouver, Canada, and in Iceland.
