November 29, 1928 – August 3, 2025
With sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of Isabelle Mary Kennedy, age 96, in North Vancouver, British Columbia.
Born in Barachois, Gaspé, Quebec, Isabelle was one of ten children born to Alphonse and Ann St. Croix. In the early 1950s, she made her way west to British Columbia, where she built a life marked by hard work, faith, and devotion to family.
A longtime resident of Deep Cove, Isabelle was one of the original members of St. Pius X Church. Her involvement with the Catholic Women's League and her volunteer work with seniors' programs reflected her deep commitment to service and giving back. She will be remembered for her positive outlook, cheerful smile and wonderful sense of humour.
Isabelle raised three children with strength and determination. Kevin, Randy, and Teresa remember their mother as someone who could make something from nothing, who taught them the value of hard work, and who made many sacrifices to ensure they had every opportunity to succeed.
As a grandmother, Isabelle was devoted to her grandchildren, always present and supportive. In her later years, she enjoyed summers in Barachois, baking, puzzles, knitting, and time with her family.
Isabelle was predeceased by her parents, Alphonse and Ann; her nine siblings; and her infant granddaughter, Meagan.
She is survived by her children: Kevin (Karen), Randy (Colleen), and Teresa (Mike); her grandchildren: Sara (Jesse), Sheena (Stu), Cory, Dani, and Matt; and her great-grandchildren: Charlotte, Ethan, and Georgia.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Pius X Church on Thursday, August 28th at 11:00 AM, with a reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army.
Rest in peace, Mom, Grandma, Great-Grandma.
