Jean was born and raised in Grand Forks B.C. She trained as a teacher and taught in several schools in BC until marrying and starting her family in 1950. After raising her family in Vancouver, she taught ESL part-time and volunteered extensively in the community.
Jean enjoyed hiking, cross country skiing, travelling, gardening, camping, singing, lawn bowling and most of all her family. She was always loving, supportive, and enjoyed any family gathering. Jean is predeceased by her loving husband of 64 years, Fred, her brother Alf, sister Alice and son-in-law Chris.
She will be deeply missed by her children Gwen, Tom (Catherine), Vicki (Mark), grandchildren Dawn (Jordan), Scott (Tracy), Sean (Megan), Carly (Steven), Caitlin, Libbie (Danny), Sam (Nicole) and great grandchildren Stella, Carson, Carter, Savanna, and Sawyer.
Thanks to all the staff at Crofton Manor for their dedicated care of Jean and their friendship over the past 12 years.
A service for family will be held at a later date.
