Kathie suffered a catastrophic stroke and passed away peacefully.
She was a trusting and generous person who experienced hard times in this life but also sunny ones.
Born and raised on Deep Cove-adjacent Violet Street, she attended Sherwood Park Elementary and Windsor Secondary where she graduated as Top Citizen. She had a great time hosting her 2018 “non-reunion grad party”.
She always worked in service industries - 17 years with Eatons, received her Certificate in Computer Technology from BCIT, and retired from Save-On Foods.
She is survived by her sister Alice (Scott) and brother Jim (Annette) and adored their kids and grand-kids Jackie (Clive), Mark (Jessica), Shaun, Dexter, Mike, Amber, Cole and Nora as well as her cat Cinnamon.
She was predeceased by her parents Donald (Jack) and Phyllis Langman and sister Debbie who she missed terribly for 44 years. She rests with them now.
Her siblings are grateful to the care and compassion shown to Kathie and them by the nurses, Intensivists and social workers at Surrey Memorial hospital ICU, and by Kit Bell who supported her as a friend through a long period in Kelowna.
If you would like to remember Kathie with a donation, she loved cats! so to any feline care or rescue society, and she was a 75+ unit blood donor so the Red Cross would also appreciate your fluids and/or any monetary contribution.
She did not recognize the signs of stroke that she was experiencing, and laid down for what turned out to be her final rest. Please familiarise yourself with them for the good of yourself and your community.
