It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ken, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, who peacefully left us at the age of 91. Ken's life was a testament to hard work, dedication, and the pursuit of excellence.
Born in Sunwui, China on May 15, 1933, Ken moved to Canada at the age of 17, determined to build a brighter future. His ambition led him to the University of British Columbia, where he graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering.
Ken's professional career was marked by his tenure at BC Tel, where he worked as a telecommunications engineer. Ken's work extended beyond national borders; he was proud to have been actively involved in setting international communication standards.
Ken's legacy is not only defined by his professional achievements but also by his character. He was a mentor to many, always willing to share his knowledge and support the growth of others. His kindness, integrity, and unwavering dedication to his family will be deeply missed.
Ken had a deep passion for travel, which started with scoping out remote locations in British Columbia for his work. He continued to journey around the world with his wife and family and particularly enjoyed the luxury of cruising.
Ken is survived by his children Ed, Allan (Jocelyn), Andrew (Kathy), and Leona (Brad) and his grandchildren Sonia, Steven, Tasha, Nicole, Marcus, Jade, Malcom, Amy and Kevin. He will be remembered fondly by his extended family, friends, and colleagues.
We would like to express our gratitude to Dr. John Lebrun who always took such special care of dad, and to the doctors and their team at Lions Gate Hospital who took great care of dad during his final weeks with us.
Rest in peace, dad. Your legacy will continue to inspire and guide us.
