Luigi Perri, known to friends and family as Louie or Lou, passed away peacefully on August 5,2024 at the age of 67 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in the scenic mountain town of Kimberley, BC, Louie’s early years were marked by a deep passion for hockey, spending countless hours at the rink with his buddies. He graduated from Selkirk high school in 1975, where he forged lifelong friendships. What started as a temporary job turned into a fulfilling 38-year career until his retirement at age 60. In 1995, Louie was married to Suzanne Hauschka, and they had two beautiful children, Trevor and Kaila, who were the center of his world.
Louie led an active lifestyle and was a passionate sports enthusiast, enjoying running, skiing, soccer and most notably, hockey. He played, watched and coached the sport throughout his life, remaining deeply connected to it. Louie cherished travelling with his children and spent many summers in the Okanagan, visiting family and making memories. His most favorite trip being on the Rocky Mountaineer train from Vancouver to Banff, which he enjoyed with Kaila and was proud to be hosted by his son, Trevor.
