Margaret Alexandra Russell

Margaret Alexandra Russell (nee Frith) passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 31st, 2017 in West Vancouver, B.C. Mom was born March 30, 1929 in Vancouver, attended West Vancouver Secondary School and then UBC where she was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. Mom met the love of her life Donald (Tibby) Russell while at UBC and they married and settled in West Vancouver where they raised their family.

Mom was an active member of the Junior League and a long-time member of the West Vancouver tennis club. She was an avid reader, a very good cook, loved to garden and paint with water colours. She was a tireless defender of injured animals and frequently brought them home to nurse back to health before releasing them back to the wild.

Dad passed away November 29, 2000 and Mom missed him deeply. Mom is survived by her three children Jane (Craig), Lauren (Neil), Bill (Jane) three grandchildren Adrian (Danielle), Gillian, Jessica, two greatgrandchildren, Jaylah and Joelle.

The family is grateful for the care provided by Dr. Nicole Barre and Dr. Paul Sugar and wishes to thank Mom’s caregivers, especially Elaine and Genet, whose love and devotion will always be remembered by our family.

Friends and Family are invited to attend a Celebration of Life at the Capilano Golf & Country Club, 420 Southborough Dr., West Vancouver, between 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 pm on Thursday, Nov. 30.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Paul Sugar Palliative Support Foundation.
