

Marguerite “Margi” Ellen Bruneau, 81 passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday April 15, 2025, at the Lynn Valley Care Center in North Vancouver.
She was born on January 15, 1944, to Jack and Ellen Goode in Victoria, British Columbia, the eldest of three siblings. Predeceased by her brother Jack, Marguerite is survived by her sister Patsy, two sons, six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one niece and three nephews.
Following the passing of her husband Phillip in 1963, Marguerite was a dispatcher for North Shore Taxi. She purchased two taxis of her own while becoming the first female cab driver in North Vancouver. She then went on to enjoy a 20-year career with BC Ferries.
After taking early retirement, Marguerite, an avid world traveler, cherished visiting the children she had sponsored over the years, spent time hiking the West Coast Trail near home and many destinations abroad, and engaged in activities such as baseball, skiing and dog walking. She was also enthusiastic about volunteering and valued her friendships and affiliation with Valley Church in Lynn Valley.
A very special thank you to the staff at the Lynn Valley care center for their care and compassion over the past six years.
Funeral services will be Saturday, May 17th, 2025 at 10 a.m. at First Memorial Funeral Services & Boal Chapel Memorial Gardens located at 1505 Lillooet Road, North Vancouver with Lead Pastor Marcel Kurtz officiating.
