It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our mother, wife and grandmother. Marianne Katherine passed away at Lion's Gate Hospital on August 28, surrounded by her family; predeceased by her mother Katherine and her father Wilhelm. She leaves behind her husband Eric of 53 years, her brother Victor (Gay), her sons Mark (Deborah), Ryan (Jane), and Brent (Kathy); and six beautiful grandchildren Cole, Drew, Alanna, Grayson, Coen, and Finn. She struggled valiantly with early-onset Parkinson's Disease at the age of 56 and later also with diabetes. She never complained and accepted her condition with grace and humour, finding great joy in the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Boal Chapel, 1505 Lillooet Road, North Vancouver. We thank the staff at the Kiwanis Care Centre for their friendship, compassion, and outstanding care during her 4 year stay. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Kiwanis Care Centre Get Up & Go Club at 2444 Burr Place, North Vancouver, BC, V7H 3A5, a club that supports musical entertainment for its Residents, an activity that was dear to her heart.
