Nadyne Tamas (nee Hunter) was born at North Vancouver General Hospital on August 15, 1933. Mom passed away peacefully at Lions Gate Hospital with her family by her side on September 10, 2025. Nadyne was predeceased by her loving husband Leslie Peter Tamas and sister Wylma (Don) Nyberg. She is lovingly survived by her brother Alan (Mary) Hunter and her children: Susan Houbregs, Julie Nichols (Martin), Nancy Beglaw (Doug), Mark Tamas (Carmen). Grandchildren: Teagan, Lacey, Josh (Kathy), Christopher (Cindy), Justin (Arielle), Stephanie (Connor), Daniel (Chrissy), Alannah (Chad). Great Grandsons: August, Jasper, Rudy, Holden and Leo. Mom worked at Vancouver Wharves for 25 years while lovingly raising her children and helping our Dad through his health challenges. Mom loved to tell stories and she never forgot her Hunter family roots and their contributions to North Vancouver. She was our librarian of life. She was a curious and adventurous soul. Her and dad loved cruising to Alaska, and after dad passed, she cruised the world with Wylma and Don by her side returning home to be back to her family to tell us of her many worldly exploits. Her stories were filled with fun, humour and adventure. She was fearless. Whitewater rafting in Alaska, paragliding off of Grouse Mountain at 76, tandem skydiving at 78. At 80 she took the family on a Panama cruise to show us her cruising world. Mom loved a party and doing it with family and friends was a must. She will always be remembered for her smile, laughter and love. Her outstanding wit and compassion were unmatched. She was the most beautiful person who taught us all how to live life to the fullest and love with no reservations. These are the lessons we’ll never forget. Dad is waiting Mom….enjoy your well-deserved time with him now. Don’t forget the wine. There will be a private family gathering at a later date.
