Norm was a good man. He was fortunate enough to have lived into his 90th year, more than likely due to the mass garlic consumption over his lifetime being of Ukrainian decent and at the advice of a Russian doctor in the early part of his life. He used the garlic in part to help undo the early years of living life to the fullest!
Norm was a car man through and through. He was Ford trained in 5 dealerships and worked toward owning two hugely successful Mazda dealerships over the span of 25 years. Fleetwood Mazda in particular which allowed him to forge many great friendships through that time, which he was very grateful for. Past employees have stated it was an absolute magical place to work, a one-of-a-kind dealership and experience that will never be recreated.
He spent the last 30 years with his wife Margaret, his partner in life as well as his constant companion and caregiver. We all greatly appreciate the love and effort she put into caring for him over the years.
He truly loved his family, and he was well loved by all.
Norm was predeceased by his first wife, Lillian (1984)- His 3 children came from his first marriage; Shannon, Darren (Jackie), and Dean. He has four grandchildren Maddison, Colton, Carson and Ellieka, and he is very proud of each of them.
From Margaret’s side he had two stepchildren, Sheila (Rob), Johnny (Carmen), as well as four grandchildren, Crystal (Paddy) Julia (Chris) Brian (Melissa), Chris (Lisa) and a great grandchild, (Sylvia).
No service by request.
The Chura family is very grateful and appreciate of his family doctor of 43 years Dr. Bin K. Lim, Sheila and the MAID program and all involved who helped us through this very difficult journey at the end.
Norm Chura was a car man and a class act up until the very end.
Norm was from a time where your handshake was your word and it meant something. This is something very rare in today’s world.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.firstmemorialnorthvancouver.com for the Chura family.
