Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, her family moved to Calgary during her teenage years. She left Calgary to attend the University of British Columbia, fell in love with the sea shore, and stayed on the West Coast until her death from Lewy Body Dementia on August 12, 2017 in Cedarview Lodge, North Vancouver.
She was 91. She leaves three children Kathy (Mike), Karl (Bonnie), Jim (Ruth), six grandchildren (Ian, Eric, Robert, Elizabeth, Henry, Luke), and many dear friends. She was predeceased by her sister Kathleen Brooks.
