April 27, 1938 – March 13, 2018.
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Richard Henry “Harry” Jones on Tuesday, March 13, 2018. It is hard to imagine life without him. Missing him greatly will be his cherished wife of 55 years, Patricia; son and daughter in law Richard and Samantha, grandsons Iain and Rory; daughter and son in law Louise and Mike, grandson Aaron; daughter and son in law Megan and Mark, and grandchildren Jessica and Steven. He also leaves his siblings Pat, Roberta (Andy), Charles (Joan) and Howard and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Llewellyn and Jean and his brother in law Fred. Harry was the best kind of man: hard working, loyal, generous, funny and kind. He believed strongly in giving back and served his country in the Naval Reserves, his province in the BC Assessment Authority and his city as a member of Citizens on Patrol. He coached hockey, was a member of the Kinsmen, the Royal Canadian Legion and gave back wherever else he could. His passions included history, curling, and he was always learning. He loved to travel and reconnecting with family in Wales and consulting in China were highlights of his life. We will miss his stories, his hugs, his smile and his deep love and pride in his family. It would mean a lot if all who knew Harry would join us in celebrating his life at 12:30 pm on Thursday, March 22 at St. George's Anglican Church in Maple Ridge. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Diabetes Canada. www.diabetes.ca. or Alzheimers Canada.
