Robert “Bob” Wilson passed away peacefully on December 17, 2025, at the Three Links Care Center in Vancouver, BC. He is now reunited with Judi, his beloved wife of 57 years, who predeceased him in 2021. Bob will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his children, Andrea and Warren; his sister, Donna; and by many relatives and friends.
Born and raised in North Vancouver, Bob remained closely connected to the community he called home. It was there that he met Judi, raised their family, and built a long and respected career as an elevator mechanic with Otis Elevators. Following his retirement, Bob and Judi moved to Sechelt, BC, where they embraced a slower pace of life and formed many cherished friendships.
Known for his strong work ethic and willingness to help others, Bob was the kind of person who was always willing to lend a hand. He was hardworking, generous, and kind – a true friend to many. From a young age, he developed a passion for bodybuilding, approaching it with the same discipline and dedication he brought to everything he did. Lucky for him, Judi was an accomplished seamstress and happily tailored his clothes to fit his impressive physique.
Family was at the heart of Bob’s life, and he especially cherished time spent together at his favourite place, Sakinaw Lake. In 1968, he purchased a lot with a small two-bedroom cabin that would become his beloved “never-ending project.” True to his nature, Bob was always fixing, improving, and transforming the cabin – finding as much joy in the work as in the finished result.
An avid fisherman from an early age, Bob spent countless hours on Sakinaw Lake in his little green boat, which he built with his father. He was always happy to take family and friends along and to share the knowledge he had gained over a lifetime on the water.
Bob also found great pleasure in spending time in his garden, even if it meant beings scolded for tracking dirt into the cabin – a “talent” he somehow managed to maintain well into his 80s. Long afternoons of card games brought laughter, friendly competition, and lasting companionship.
Bob’s steady presence, quiet strength, and generous spirit will be deeply missed. His legacy lives on in the many memories shared by those who knew and loved him.
At Bob’s request, no service will be held.
