Passed away peacefully on April 9, 2020 at the age of 84. Dad was born in Harris, Saskatchewan on June 7, 1935 and at the age of 12 moved to Vancouver. This was ultimately a blessing in disguise because he eventually met the love of his life, Joy Marie. Dad spent his high school years at Vancouver Tech, and after graduating, he worked at a fishing camp located in Namu, north of Vancouver. In his early twenties, Dad started working with BC Tel, at which he spent his entire working career. Dad met Mom when he was 21 years old, and he immediately knew Joy was the "one." They were eventually married and spent 59 years together. They raised three children, created many wonderful summer memories at Peachland, B.C., and traveled to different parts of Canada and England. Dad will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Joy, his daughter, Caroline (Erich), his sons, Martin (Gail) and Brian (Laurie), and six grandchildren, Ryan (Stephanie), Megan (Sam), Mitchell, Sarah, Danielle and Julia. Dad always said that as long as he had Mom everything would be okay. Dad also leaves behind his brother, Harley (Janet), and his niece, Justine (Steve). We will always love and miss you, Dad. The family will gather for a private celebration to celebrate Dad's life with family and friends at a later time when appropriate.
