We said goodbye to our kind, sweet Rosemary after a long battle with early onset Alzheimer disease. Rosemary was born and raised in North Vancouver and was the only daughter of Pete and Dorothy Roberts. She attended Carson Graham Secondary School. In 1973 she went to Gladstone Secondary school with her date, Alf, to see the play "You're a Good Man Charlie Brown". After the play they went on a double date with Keith (who played Linus) and his date. They continued double dating for a few months. When Alf broke it off with Rosemary, Keith got up the nerve to go to Rosemary's family home and ask her out. Rosemary accepted, and they dated until they married on July 24, 1976. Their marriage ended in 1980, but they remained good friends. Keith introduced her to a co-worker, Dirk, and they hit it off. They married in 1985 and shortly after that they bought a house on East 12th Street in North Vancouver. Rosemary became the godmother of Michelle, Danielle and Jaime Paquette in 1987, a title she was excited to have. Their marriage ended in 1995, and Rosemary remained in the house. Her next-door neighbour, Doris, suggested that her son should ask Rosemary out. Their first date was a bike ride that she really enjoyed. They continued to date, and Rosemary met Doug's two sons, Trevor and Bradley. Rosemary was both smitten and nervous about being a part of their family. The boys made it very easy for Rosemary to fit in. They eventually bought a home on East 7th that had ample room for all of them. In August 2007 the made it official with a beautiful backyard wedding. They enjoyed many adventures together that included road trips on one of Doug's motorcycles. Hiking, skiing, camping, and trips to their friend's, Brent and Nancy's cabin on Shuswap Lake. They also travelled to India, trips to the Island with the boys and time at home. Rosemary was an avid runner and was a member of a group that ran twice a week on the North Shore. When Rosemary was diagnosed with Alzheimer disease, Doug retired early so that he could spend quality time for as long as possible with Rosemary. Unfortunately, Doug's cancer returned with a vengeance, and Doug went into palliative care. Rosemary went to Capilano Care as Doug could no longer look after her. Doug passed away in January 2016 and in July of 2016 Rosemary moved into Sunrise in Lynn Valley. Rosemary received exceptional care at Sunrise and in January of 2025 lost her battle. She is survived by her 2 stepsons, Trevor (Emma)and Bradley (Emily), sister-in-law Heather, cousin Russ and extended family and many friends. Please join us in celebrating her life.
