Tadej Markus passed away comfortably and peacefully with his beloved daughter by his side on August 4th, 2023. His closest family members had the opportunity to express their love for him in the days leading up to his passing and they will have the memories of his kind words to cherish forever.
Tadej was a distinguished gentleman who lived a life full of adventure. From serving in the army in the furthest reaches of Siberia, to working in Kazakhstan, to raising his granddaughters in Canada- Tadej always had an incredible story of his life experiences to share.
Tadej was also fiercely intelligent. He loved classical music, literature, and you could speak with him for hours on a wide range of philosophical topics. He was also well known for being an inventor of sorts, and his home was full of his innovations and creations. His trademark was little holes drilled into every piece of furniture to modify them to his liking.
But perhaps his most beloved quality, which will be so very missed, was his quick wit. If ever you were bored, you can still hear his voice say “if you’re bored you should try spitting and catching it in your hand!”, which was just one of his funny witticisms.
Tadej is preceded in his death by his cherished daughter, Olha, and his baby sister, Nina. He is survived by his two granddaughters, Ulianna and Olivia, his son-in-law Jaroslav, his wife Bogdana, and his daughter Irina, the absolute light of his life.
In place of floral tributes, we invite you to consider making a donation in his name to the Maple Hope Foundation's medical team, embodying his spirit of compassion and care (https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://www.maplehopefoundation.org/__;!!M2D_dUfSiN4E!IoQWSFQOPVlKViO4lU4lnmRCAmaKUQY0pHt7WnW547YC0Tw8iwyT0u4waS1JDfDFxqzuKLoPBlhpm53eHbsEGMAQMiM2aTerffA$ [maplehopefoundation[.]org]).
