Victoria Kohler left this world peacefully to go on to her next adventure on Sunday, June 24, 2018 at Vancouver General Hospital. Victoria made every effort to enjoy each day exactly the way she wanted to and made everyone around her feel truly seen, heard and loved. Victoria was a rare soul who celebrated the intricacies and eccentricities of life. Her favourite film was the Rocky Horror Picture Show, she faithfully watched Coronation Street every Sunday, she often ate breakfast for dinner, and she changed the colour and style of her hair as frequently as the styles of her clothes —and she had impeccable style. In her retirement, Victoria renewed her love of painting and produced numerous works of beautiful art. In her final year of life, Victoria tried yoga, went horseback riding for the first time, danced enthusiastically at a Bruno Mars concert, went hiking in Vancouver with her daughter and days before she left this world, she panned for gold in Alaska on the greatest adventure of her lifetime. At the center of all of her adventures was Victoria’s family. Her strength and determination to enjoy life was and will continue to be an example and a gift to her family. She spent her final days with her daughter in Vancouver and her spirit will continue to be loved beyond measure.
She is survived by her daughter, Katherine, siblings, the late Caterina (Joe), Antonia (Sam), Tony (Lucy), along with her many nieces, Betty, Jay (Aldon), Anna (Joe), Debbie (Les), Maria (Mauro), Adriana, Teresa (Mark), Joseph, Robert and many great nieces, nephews and friends too many to list but not forgotten.
Victoria is reunited with her sister, Caterina, her mother, Vincenzina, and her father Giuseppe.
