Alice June Stone Phillips

Alice June Phillips, age 75, of Northport, died Jan. 10, 2011, at Northport Medical Center-DCH. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Sunset Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Bowers officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Eula Mae Stone; a brother, Charles Lewis Stone, Jr.; and a sister, Nina Logan.

Survivors include her husband, Billy L. Phillips; a sister, Katherine Sullivan; daughters, Jeanne Herndon and Jaynee Raymon of Tuscaloosa and Jackie Mayfield of Northport; grandchildren, Phillip Lee Lollar (Melinda), Donald Gerry Hill, Jr., Jason Phillips Hill, Elizabeth Suzanne Byrd (Clint), Stephanie Douglas Hill Smitherman (Steve), Ronald Clifton Herndon, and James Austin Mayfield; great-grandchildren, Garrett, Phillip Lee, Tyler and Marianne Lollar, Grace Ann Hill, Carson and Chandler Byrd, and Jackson Smitherman; and several nieces and nephews.

She will be remembered for her love of cooking and sewing, to which she dedicated most of her years. She was a loving and joyful mother and grandmother who could put a smile on anyone's face.

Pallbearers will be Phillip Lee Lollar, Donald Hill, Jr., Jason Phillip Hill, James Austin Mayfield, Richard Clint Byrd, and Steven Daniel Smitherman.

Honorary pallbearers are the DCH Health System and many caring neighbors and friends.
