Benny C. Whitt, age 63, of Tuscaloosa, died Dec. 12, 2010, at home. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Jerry Skinner officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles William Whitt and Oma Faye St. Clair.
Survivors include his wife, Thyra Frederick; a daughter, Shonna Whitt; a son, Benny Charles Whitt, Jr.; sisters, Kaye Colangelo, Stormy Cook, Yolanda Ratliff, and Debbie McCoy; brothers, Rodney Ratliff and David Whitt; grandchildren, Alicia Fitch, Toni Ramirez, Rebecca Lynn Whitt, Mikaela Peterson and Melissa Whitt; and great-granddaughter, Annika Fitch.
Pallbearers will be Woody Colangelo, Jason Colangelo, Gene Cook, Jeff McCoy, Rick Hmelesky, John Taylor, and Richard Hmelesky.
Honorary pallbearers are Hospice Complete of Tuscaloosa, Cassandra, Good Samaritan Clinic of Northport, Rayneila Lyday, Nicki Cottingham, Margaret Sherlock, Lynette Frederick, and Rhonda Bales.
