Cathy Caldwell

Cathy Lynn Ackley Caldwell, age 62, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at DCH Regional Hospital in Tuscaloosa. A celebration of life will be held on October 15, 2024 at 5pm at Sunset Funeral Home in Northport.

Cathy was preceded in death by her parents, Donald W. Ackley and Sondra Ackley; and sister, Laura Ackley.

Cathy is survived by her husband of 39 years, Michael Caldwell of Tuscaloosa; sons, Benjamin Caldwell (Pimsai) of Newnan, GA, and Adam Caldwell (Caroline) of Birmingham; brother, Alan Ackley (Kathy) of Fox Island, WA; mother-in-law, Nita Caldwell of Northport; and grandson, John Thomas Caldwell.

Cathy was a retired employee of the Tuscaloosa County School System. Her hobbies included gardening, University of Alabama athletics, reading, but her greatest hobby was her family. Whether it was being a loving wife, mother to her two sons, a grandmother to her grandson, a mother-in-law to her daughters-in -law, or a mother to her fur babies, her family was her greatest passion.

The family would like to extend their thanks to all the medical professionals that provided Cathy with the medical care she received over the last four years.
