Daniel Riley Guin

COKER – Daniel Riley Guin, age 26, of Coker Ala., died July 28, 2016 at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, August 5, 2016 at Sunset Funeral Home with Shawn O’Dell officiating. Burial will follow in Big Creek Cemetery with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be Thursday, August 4, 2016, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the funeral home.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Emma Eileen Guin; grandparents, Gaines and Frances Reece; grandmother, Vera P. Guin; and grandparents, Charles and Dorothy (Dot) Jones.

Survivors include his fiancé, Carie Avans; parents, Donna Jones (Donny), and Mark H. Guin Jr.; grandfather, Mark H. Guin Sr.; and special loving aunt and uncle, Charles and Linda Morris.

Daniel was an amazing father and a kind and gentle soul. He had a hard working, strong work ethic. He was a friend to all who never met a stranger.

He had a love for hunting and fishing and he loved his family deeply. He had a contagious smile and a witty sense of humor.

Pallbearers will be Will Jones, Steve Sisk, Jonathan Plowman, Patton Barns, Justin Hewitt, and Brian “Wobbly” Cork.

Honorary pallbearers are employees of McAbee Construction, and friends and family of Coker community.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations please be made to UAB Children’s Hospital ICU or Wounded Warrior Project.
