TUSCALOOSA - D. Wayne Love, Sr., age 75, passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2017, at Park Manor Health & Rehabilitation. Graveside service will be at 12:00 noon Monday, October 30, 2017 at Athens City Cemetery in Athens, Ala. with Rev. Mike Spivey officiating. Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, is directing the service.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Frank and Faye Love.
He is survived by his wife, Rachel Love of Buhl; daughter, Glenna Almond (William); sons, David W. Love (Shannon) and Geoffrey D. Love (Ginger); and grandchildren, Victoria, Lauren and Geoffrey Love, Matthew, Philip and Kaitlin Love, Abigail, Benjamin and Nathaniel Almond.
Wayne was an avid amateur radio operator and a big fan of model trains. He worked for 35 plus years with Regions and Compass Banks in Birmingham.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Northport First United Methodist Church.
