TUSCALOOSA – Donald “Mike” Wilson, age 66, of Tuscaloosa, Ala., died March 24, 2018, at Hospice of West Alabama. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 30, 2018, at Sunset Funeral Home with Herbie Gray officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be Thursday, March 29, 2018, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his father, Mack Donald Wilson; wife, Laura Wilson; and grandparents, Austin Wilson (Donie), Henry Howell and Esther McClosky.
Survivors include his daughter, Andrea Megan DaRosa (Eric) of Greenfield, Ind.; sons, Brandon Marcus Wilson (Jennifer) of Fairland, Ind. and Christopher Michael Wilson (Jessica) of Cottondale, Ala.; sister, Dianne Patton of Dickinson, Ala.; brother, Wayne Wilson (Ginger) of Grove Hill, Ala.; mother, Joyce Wilson of Camden, Ala.; grandchildren, Timothy DaRosa and Philip DaRosa of Greenfield, Ind., James Wilson, Benjamin Wilson and Joseph Wilson, all of Fairland, Ind., Chance Wilson of Port Townsend, Wash., Christin Wilson, and Teagan Ryland of Cottondale, Ala.
Donald moved from Clarke County to Tuscaloosa in 1972. He mainly worked at BF Goodrich and Home Depot. His passion was woodworking. He also loved playing softball, reading, collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia and watching Alabama football.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Wilson, James Wilson, Eric DaRosa, Richard Fuller, Benjamin Beavers and Chris Wilson.
Honorary pallbearers are Timothy DaRosa, Philip DaRosa, Benjamin Wilson, Joseph Wilson, Chance Wilson, Christin Wilson, Teagan Rylan, Cash Wilson, Callie Simmons, Colton Simmons and Jaxon Wells.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Hospice of West Alabama.
