Eleanor Jane Ellison

Eleanor Jane Ellison, age 87, of Northport, died November, 24, 2022, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00 until 2:30 at Bethel Presbyterian Church. Services will follow at 2:30 with Reverend Neal McCarter Officiating.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Wesley McGee, Marie McGee Boyd, son Wesley Dean Ellison and grandson Eric Ellison. Survivors include her husband R.L. Ellison; son, Darwin Ellison; granddaughters, Casie (Scott) Ellison Schmidt and Jessica (Braxton) Ellison Smith; grandsons, Justin (Stephanie) Ellison and Koby Ellison and numerous, beloved great-grandchildren; sisters, Jo Ann Burkhalter and Shelby Moss; brother, Larry (Vicky) McGee and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will include Justin Ellison, Scott Schmidt, Braxton Smith, Steve McGee, Jim Burkhalter, Berneal Ellison, and Dale Ellison.

Our family lost its beloved matriarch and our community lost a caring, loving soul. There was no one like her. Her steadfast faith in God led her throughout her life. She lifted the weak, encouraged the downtrodden, and made everyone feel welcome with a simple smile or kind word. She saw the good in you, even when you couldn’t see it yourself. It is bittersweet that we lost her on Thanksgiving. Everyone that knew her, everyone that loved her has so much to be thankful for by simply having her in their lives.
