Emma Eileen Guin

COKER – Emma Eileen Guin, age 1 1/2, of Coker, Ala. passed away July 30, 2016 at Children’s of Alabama in Birmingham, Ala. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, August 5, 2016, at Sunset Funeral Home with Shawn O’Dell officiating. Burial will follow in Big Creek Cemetery with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be Thursday, August 4, 2016, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the funeral home.

She was preceded in death by her father, Daniel Riley Guin; great-grandmother, Vera Guin; great-grandparents, Gaines and Frances Reece and James and Elemore Boothe; and great uncle, Michael Boothe.

She is survived by her mother, Carie Avans; grandparents, Mark H. Guin, Jr., Donna Jones (Donny), Eileen E. Hubbard (Richard) and Todd Allan Avans (Lisa); aunt, Ciara Grimsley (Brandon); and special loving great aunt and uncle, Charles and Linda Morris.

Emma was absolutely breath taking. She had the most beautiful eyes and could give you butterfly kisses that could melt your heart. She had a smile so bright, just like her daddy’s and the dimples that go along with them.

Her favorite place to be, besides in her momma’s arms was playing in the water. Every day I see the sunshine, I will think of you Emma.

Pallbearers will be Will Jones, Steve Sisk, Jonathan Plowman, Patton Barns, Justin Hewitt and Brian “Wobbly” Cork.

Honorary pallbearers are friends and neighbors of Coker community.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to UAB Children’s Hospital ICU or Wounded Warrior Project.
