Frances C. Lancaster

Frances Catherine Porter Lancaster, age 79, of Gordo, went home to be with the Lord August 27, 2010, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 4 p.m. today, Sunday, August 29, 2010, at Flatwoods Baptist Church in Gordo with Rev. Dax Lancaster and Rev. Jerrod Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Flatwoods Baptist Church Cemetery in Gordo with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ira and Pearlie Porter; and brothers, Robert and Donald Porter.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 61 years, William Douglas Lancaster; daughter, Kathy Lancaster; son, Kerry Lancaster, Sr.; sisters, Nona Faye Brown, Sue Hamner (Alton), Betty Christian (Willard) and Trillie Brown (Lloyd); brothers, Bill Porter, (Felicia), Doug Porter (Linda) and Shirley Ray Porter (Diane); an aunt, Amy Shirley; grandchildren, Gary Morris, Jr., Andy Allen Lancaster and Kerry Lancaster, Jr.; and great-grandchildren, Hannah, Jax, Porter, Natlie and Ashley.

Frances was a devoted Christian and desired everyone to know her Jesus.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.\
