

Francis (Tank) Rudolph Bell, age 79, of Coker, died Nov. 30, 2010, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Arbor Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Mike Rogers officiating and Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Bell died after a brief battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his family.
Tank and his wife of 52 years, Sara, attended Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Coker. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. After retiring from the Alabama Power Company, Tank enjoyed gardening, hunting, reading, and his family and friends. A quiet man, he had the gift of making everyone he met feel special.
Along with his wife, Tank leaves a daughter, Jackie Rasmussen (Darren) of Birmingham; his sons, Kenneth Bell (Allison) of Colorado, Albert Bell (Jane) of Fayette, and Byron Bell of Coker; his adored grandchildren, Joshua and Jessica Bell of Colorado and Ben and Logan Bell of Fayette; his sister, Dorothy Warren of Tuscaloosa; as well as extended family and friends.
Pallbearers will be his sons, Kenny, Albert, and Byron, and his grandsons, Joshua, Ben, and Logan Bell.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Red Cross.
