Gary Blaylock, age 76, entered into his eternal heavenly home on
Thursday, March 19, 2026.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 23 at 12:00 p.m., followed by the Celebration of Life Service at 1:00 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home, 3802 Watermelon Rd, Northport, AL 35473. Graveside immediately following.
Gary was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Teresa Blaylock, mother and father Madeline and Avery Blaylock, and brother and sister-in-law J.W. and Aloma Blaylock.
He is survived by Justin Hollis(Shannon) of Northport, AL, Jeromy Hollis of Tuscaloosa, AL, Destry Blaylock(Brynna) of Bella Vista, AR, Brandy Blaylock of Grove, OK, and Tonya Goldner (Caleb) of Grove, OK. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren: Haley, Preston, and Chase Hollis, Lorelai and Sophie Blaylock, Lani, Laci, and Jax Goldner, and Darrin and Michelle Deason.
Gary Blaylock was born in 1950. He grew up on his family farm in Miami, OK. After marrying Teresa, they moved to Tuscaloosa, AL. He was a member of Open Door Baptist Church for many years.
He was employed for 37 years at BF Goodrich. To his family, coworkers, and friends, Gary was always supportive and willing to lend a helping hand. He was a resilient, hard working, and strong individual who always made sure the needs of others were met. He was always proud of his children and grandchildren and loved being involved in everything they did. He could often be found at the table playing board games or cards with the family. He enjoyed cooking and always had delicious meals prepared for special occasions. Gary loved taking his grandkids on adventures and enjoyed family
beach vacations. He loved cars and took pride in his newest green Dodge Challenger. He was a blessing to all who knew him and will be truly missed by many.
Pallbearers will be Chris Blazer, Chase Hollis, Preston Hollis, Raymond Lay, Rick Mitchell, and Paul Sullivan.
