

NORTHPORT - Huey Junior Riley, age 77, of Northport, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 25, 2016. Graveside service will be 3 p.m. today, December 28, 2016, at Cottondale Cemetery with Rev. William H. Hall officiating and Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing.
Born in Tuscaloosa, Ala. to Huey E. Riley and Lillie Ballard, he lived most of his life in Alabama and Texas. He was a United States Army veteran and was very proud to have served his country. He retired from Centerpoint Energy (Arkla Gas) in Waskom, Texas and afterward opened a small engine repair shop.
He was a fair-minded, hardworking man of many talents who was able to build and fix anything. He was wise in many ways and was always there to give advice and counsel. He was a very loving and caring man with a wonderful sense of humor and was always willing to help anyone in need. He enjoyed gardening, home improvement projects, and tinkering with engines of any type.
He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Faye Gibson Riley, his daughter Deborah L. Ri|ey; sons, Randall Riley, Gregory Riley and Chris Riley; stepdaughter, Tabitha Youngblood, stepsons Reggie Gibson and Doug Gibson; brother, Dewayne Riley; sisters, Jeanell Burchfield and Ann Bartenseld; and several other half brothers and sisters, 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
