NORTHPORT | James O. Smith, age 78, of Northport, died December 29, 2015, at home. Graveside will be 11 a.m. Saturday, January 2, 2016, in Sunset Memorial Park with Bro. Jim Roberts officiating and Sunset Funeral Home, A Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday, January 1, 2016, at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his father, Oliver Doyle (O.D.) Smith; mother, Irene Smith; and brother, David Smith.
Survivors include his wife Mary F. Smith; daughter, Monica L. Hill (Richard) special son-in-law; son, Jimmy Smith (Melissa) and Bobby Earl Smith; sister, Carolyn Wilson; sister-in-law, Betty Smith; grandchildren, Courtney Hill and Cade Hill, Wesley Smith, Jill Smith, Amber Smith, Tyler Smith and Brandy Smith.
Pallbearers are Jimmy Sellers, Wayne Smith, Jack Price, Alonzo Hill, Jr., Michael Hill, David Wells, Heath Beck and Jonathan Stringham.
Honorary pallbearers are Alacare nurses and staff, special nurses Jenna and Melody, and Dr. Reginald Motley.
